Air Fryer Orange Chicken
Ingredients
1 pound boneless and skinless chicken breasts, cubed
1 large egg, beaten with a splash of water
1/2 cup cornstarch
To Make the Orange Sauce:
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon cornstarch
red pepper flakes, to taste
Directions
Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
Place the beaten egg in a large bowl. In another bowl, place cornstarch.
Dip cubed chicken in into the beaten egg, and then in cornstarch. Put seasoned chicken in the grease air fryer basket.
Fry at 375 F (190 C) for 12-14 minutes, or until chicken is golden brown. Remove fried chicken from the fryer and transfer to a large bowl. Keep warm.
To make a sauce: In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients. Mix well and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thickened.
Remove the sauce from the heat and set aside. Allow to cool for a few minutes before adding to chicken.
