Air Fryer Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients
2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, whole wheat, or your favorite type)
2–3 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, American, or a mix)
1–2 tbsp butter , softened (or mayo for an extra crispy finish)
Optional Add-Ins: Sliced tomatoes, Cooked bacon or ham, Avocado slices, Jalapeños or red pepper flakes for heat,
Directions
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2–3 minutes.
Spread a thin, even layer of softened butter (or mayo) on one side of each slice of bread. This will be the outer side that gets crispy in the air fryer.
Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a plate. Layer the cheese slices evenly on top. Add optional ingredients like bacon, tomato slices, or jalapeños if desired.
Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
Place the assembled sandwich in the air fryer basket. If your air fryer is small, cook one sandwich at a time to ensure even cooking.
Cook for 4–5 minutes , flipping halfway through, until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
Remove the sandwich from the air fryer and let it cool for 1 minute before slicing.
Cut in half and serve warm with your favorite sides, like soup, salad, or pickles.
