Air Fryer Pizza Wontons
Ingredients
1/4 cup pizza sauce, or marinara sauce
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
12 slices pepperoni, diced
12 wonton wrappers
2 tablespoon water
Directions
Start by laying out your wonton wrappers on a clean, flat work surface. Have your shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni (cut into smaller pieces if they’re too large), and marinara sauce ready.
Place a teaspoon of pizza sauce or marinara sauce in the center of each wonton wrapper. Add a pinch of Italian seasoning, a few pieces of pepperoni, and a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Be careful not to overfill to prevent the wontons from bursting during cooking.
Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with water, then fold the wrapper over the filling to form a triangle. Press the edges together to seal, ensuring no air pockets are inside. For added security, you can also press the edges with a fork.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the prepared wontons in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Spray the top of the wontons lightly with olive oil spray. This helps them get golden and crispy. Set the air fryer to 375 degrees F (190°C) and set cook time for 8-10 minutes until the wontons are golden brown and crispy. Check halfway through and flip if necessary for even cooking.
Once cooked, let the wontons cool for a few minutes, as they will be very hot. Serve with a little pizza sauce or your favorite dipping sauce, or a dusting of Parmesan cheese, and enjoy your crispy, delicious pizza wontons!
