Air Fryer Cherry Empanadas

Ingredients

14 oz package refrigerated pie dough
half of 21 oz can of cherry pie filling
butter-flavored cooking spray
1 teaspoon coarse sugar crystals

Directions

Roll out the pie dough until it’s 1/8 inch thick. Cut two rounds of dough with a 3-inch round cookie cutter. This will give you 16 circles.

Put 1 tablespoon of cherry pie filling in the center of each circle. Wet the edges with water, then fold the circle in half and pinch the edges together to make a sealed pocket. Use a fork to crimp the edges for extra strength. Cut a slit in the top.

Turn on your air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Put a single layer of pies in the basket and spray them with cooking oil. Sprinkle the tops with sugar. Cook the pies in the air fryer for 9 minutes, until they’re golden brown.
