Air Fryer French Fries

Ingredients

3 medium Russet potatoes, scrubbed clean and cut into fries, (about 2 pounds)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Directions

Scrub 3 medium Russet potatoes, scrubbed clean and cut into fries the skin on. Cut into even fry-sized sticks, about ¼-inch thick for best crisping.

Rinse the cut potatoes under cold water until the water runs mostly clear.

Place the fries in a large bowl filled with ice-cold water. Soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. If soaking longer than 30 minutes, change the water once or twice.

Drain the potatoes and spread them on a clean kitchen towel. Pat completely dry. The drier they are, the crispier they will be.

Transfer the dried potatoes to a large mixing bowl. Add 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil and toss to coat. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.

Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 330°F for 10 minutes. Shake the basket, then increase temperature to 400°F and air fry for another 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.

Transfer to a parchment-lined plate and sprinkle with additional kosher salt if desired. Serve immediately.
