Air Fryer Japanese Chicken Skewers

Ingredients

1/2 cup mirin
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1½ pounds boneless and skinless chicken thighs, cubed
balsamic vinegar, for garnish

Directions

In a small saucepan, combine the mirin, dry white wine, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Mix well and bring to a boil, stirring, over medium heat.

Keep stirring and boil for a further 2 minutes, or until it has a thick consistency. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside.

Grease the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Thread cubed chicken into soaked bamboo skewers.

Arrange the skewers in the air fryer and brush with the mirin mixture on both sides. Spritz with more cooking spray.

Fry at 400 F (200 C0 for 10 minutes, or until chicken is golden brown, turning once halfway through.

Remove fried chicken skewers from the fryer and transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with balsamic vinegar. Serve hot.
