Air Fryer Nashville Chicken

Ingredients

2 pounds boneless and skinless chicken thighs
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
2 tablespoons hot sauce
2 tablespoons pickle juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions

In a large mixing bowl, combine chicken thighs, 1 tablespoon hot sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, ad 1 tablespoon of pickle juice. Mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

In a small mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Stir well.

In a separated bowl, combine beaten egg, buttermilk, and remaining hot sauce. Whisk well.

Remove marinated chicken thighs from the refrigerator and transfer them to a large bowl. Dredge them in the flour mixture to evenly coat, then place them into the buttermilk mixture, and then return to the flour mixture.

Preheat your air fryer to 400 F (200 C) for 5 minutes.

Working in batches, place seasoned chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly coat with cooking spray. Fry at 375 F (190 C) for 5-6 minutes, then flip the chicken and fry for a further 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve hot.
